Birmingham City could be set to make a move for Norwich City winger Ben Marshall, according to Alan Nixon.

The Blues are keen on adding quality and depth to their squad during the January window, and manager Garry Monk will see tricky winger Marshall as someone who can come in and do an excellent job at St Andrews.

Former Stoke City and Blackburn man Marshall has found himself on the periphery of the Canaries squad this year and would no doubt be open to a January move as he looks to get some first team minutes under his belt in the second half of the season.

For Birmingham, they will be keen on making an impression in the next few months, with a play-off push not completely out of the question if they can put together a run of consistent results and claw back some ground on the top six.

Marshall can play either wing and has a habit of producing the spectacular, something which Monk will see as a key element as he looks to improve his squad's options.

The Verdict

Marshall has almost become a forgotten man so a move to Birmingham would make sense for the former Stoke man.

He's a quality operator on his day and he could well provide the Blues with a much needed attacking boost from wide areas.

A solid signing if he can get fit and regain some form.
