Another week and another injury for Leeds United, with the recent news that shot-stopper Jamal Blackman has been sent back to Chelsea after breaking his leg.

The former loanee suffered a serious injury in Leeds' under-23 clash against Birmingham last week, adding to a list of injuries that just doesn't seem to be ending this campaign.

Blackman made just two appearances for the Whites, but Marcelo Bielsa's men are now in need of a back-up to first-choice keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who has looked shaky in recent weeks.

Leeds have already been linked with the signing of Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton - the 32-year old is behind Nick Pope and Joe Hart in the pecking order at Turf Moor, and is reportedly looking for a move away in January.

It is, in fact, Birmingham City and former boss Garry Monk who could help Leeds out - as one player who could be of much use to the Yorkshire club is David Stockdale.

The 33-year-old has found it tough at St. Andrew's since his move from Brighton and Hove Albion a couple of years back, and has since been replaced by Lee Camp and youngster Connal Trueman in the Blues' pecking order.

His most recent spell come on loan at Southend United where he made just three appearances for the Essex club, and has already returned to the West Midlands club, frozen out of Monk's plans.

On his day, however, Stockdale is a very astute goalkeeper at Championship level - he was such a reliable figure in between the sticks for Albion in their promotion to the Premier League in 2016/17.

He'd have to fight for his place of course, but Stockdale could be available for Leeds at cut-price, and would be a smart move by Marcelo Bielsa.
