Derby County midfielder Jason Knight wants to remain at Pride Park despite attracting Premier League interest recently, according to journalist Dean Jones who provided this update to Give Me Sport.
As per a report from The Times last Sunday, the Rams were ready to cash in on the Republic of Ireland international as they continue to suffer financial difficulties, yet to name a preferred bidder as they look to force their way out of administration.
The same outlet also states that Burnley, Leeds United and Newcastle are all interested in the 20-year-old, who has reportedly been valued at £8m as one of the East Midlands side's most valuable assets.
Knight has been an exceptional and versatile operator for Wayne Rooney's men this term, missing the start of the season through injury after being involved in a challenge with the Manchester United legend but fitting back in seamlessly as he's played both in the middle of the park and out wide.
Making 19 appearances and recording four goal contributions in the process, he has been a vital figure in midfield as one of the more experienced players in the team despite his young age, and would be a huge miss if he was to leave with Graeme Shinnie also departing the club for Wigan Athletic this month.
However, Derby fans could be set for a huge boost with journalist Jones outlining the Irishman's clear stance on his future at Pride Park.
He said: "Knight doesn't actually want to leave Derby right now.
"So, even though it’s a good move for him, while Rooney's there, I think he's quite enjoying it."
