Chelsea's Conor Gallagher has signed for Swansea City on-loan for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old started the season on-loan at Charlton Athletic but was recalled by Chelsea last week, with the club stating their desire for Gallagher to play for a club 'further up the Championship table'.

He's impressed most in his half-season at The Valley, playing 26 times in the league and scoring six times.

But Charlton have slowly been creeping towards the drop zone and Lee Bowyer found his side in 19th after their 2-2 draw at home to league leaders West Brom at the weekend, Gallagher's last game for the Addicks.

But after completing his loan-move to South Wales yesterday, Gallagher had this message for Swansea fans:

"Hi guys, Conor Gallagher here - delighted to sign for Swansea City, and I can't wait to get started!" said the Chelsea man.

He becomes their third loan-signing of the window after both Rhian Brewster and Marc Guehi signed from Liverpool and Chelsea respectively for the remainder of the campaign.

Having played out a 0-0 draw at Cardiff last Sunday, Swansea now sit a place outside the play-off only on goal-difference to 6th-placed Sheffield Wednesday, but Steve Cooper will have Gallagher in time for their home fixture against Wigan at the weekend.

The verdict

Swansea have really pushed the boat out with their signings this month.

They've been pretty solid in recent weeks and this trio of loan-signings has impressed everyone - they look ready to challenge for a top-six spot this season with their additions, and they can start with a win over Wigan on Saturday.
