Burnley are yet to make their mind up on the future of striker Nakhi Wells.

Queens Park Rangers have been linked with the Premier League frontman, with manager Steve McClaren looking to add experience to his youthful side.

The arrival of Matej Vydra from Derby County has seen Wells' chances of featuring for the Premier League side decreased.

So far there has been no movement regarding a potential move, but Burnley boss Sean Dyche has issued an update on the situation.

Dyche told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Nakhi is fighting for his chance to play and there’s been a bit of interest in him from outside, but we haven’t made a decision on that, and neither has he.

"We’re very open with our players, knowing what’s right for them and what’s right for us."

Wells has yet to feature for the Clarets this season but has been training with his teammates still ahead of any potential move.

The striker made nine substitute appearances in the top-flight last season having arrived at Turf Moor while recovering from a foot injury.

The Verdict

For the sake of Nahki Wells and Queens Park Rangers hopefully a decision comes sooner rather than later.

Wells is unlikely to feature for Sean Dyche’s men and taking their time over the future of the former Huddersfield man isn’t doing the club or the player any favours.

QPR want the striker to add experience to their front line, and there are still two weeks still to go until August 31, when the loan window shuts.

Wells needs first-team football, and the 28-year-old is a target for the London side.

Deliberating needs to stop and a judgement call needs to be made as soon as possible.
