Burnley's development squad has been revamped

Much emphasis over the last couple of years has been placed on the development squad at Turf Moor and Dyche believes the club are already beginning to reap the rewards.

It was announced last week that the Burnley chairman Mike Garlick had made plans for an annual budge to be in position for the development squad, to allow the club to produce a conveyor belt of talent.

The Clarets secured the services of six talented youngsters from other clubs in the summer with the aim of all of them complimenting a group of local players in the development squad and then eventually in the first-team later on.

Garlick spoke to the Burnley Express on his plans for the club's talent production.

He said: "The club has ring-fenced a sum of money for the next five years, so every year we can add to the development squad and bring it up to the quality deemed necessary.

"It is a definite benefit of our legacy of the Premier League season and it's about quality, rather than quantity because we want to make sure that some of those players progress to the first-team."

Sean Dyche's Burnley currently sit in sixth place in the Sky Bet Championship, and they look like they will be challenging in the higher echelons of the table this season.
