It has not just been the Leeds United first team who have impressed this season as Carlos Corberan’s under-23’s continue to sparkle.

And they booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Premier League Cup last night after seeing off Fulham in an entertaining affair.

Ryan Edmondson gave the Whites a half-time lead thanks to a 44th minute penalty but were pegged back in the second half, falling behind just after the hour mark after two quickfire goals.

But Carlos Corberan’s side were not about to give up, with an Izzy Brown goal sending the match into extra time and then penalties after a goalless 30 minutes.

After an excellent display from Whites goalkeeper Joshua Rae, it fell to Gaetano Berardi to convert the winning penalty, which he did with ease.

The fans have really brought into the club’s youth set-up this season with defender Hugo Diaz catching the eye on more than one occasion.
