‘Future captain’ – Plenty of QPR fans are mulling over this 21-y/o after commanding performance v Leeds

Conor Masterson started his first league game for Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has had to wait for his chance to impress Mark Warburton. He joined on a free from Liverpool in the summer and was set to go out on-loan this month, but with Toni Leistner picking up an injury, he’s ran into some unexpected game-time.

He started alongside Grant Hall in the heart of the defence yesterday, and has since won over the hearts of fans with a commanding display, showing experience well beyond his age as QPR ran out 1-0 winner.

Warburton is now expected to keep Masterson in West London rather than loaning him out, and he looks set to be a regular for the team alongside Hall at centre-back.
