Nottingham Forest youngster Ryan Yates made his debut for the club in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup win, and supporters have reacted well to his performance.

The Championship side saw off Bury 10-9 in a penalty shoot-out after Matty Cash scored a 93rd-minute equaliser.

Yates started and played the entire first half before being replaced by Ben Osborn.

The midfielder spent the first half of last season out on loan to League Two Notts County before a temporary switch up one division to League One Scunthorpe United in January.

He made a total of 47 approaches last season and scored eight goals over his two spells away from the City Ground.

Yates signed a new five-year deal at the City Ground at the start of July and is progressing well at his parent club as he looks to make an impact in the first team this season.

It will be no easy feat with a clutch of new attacking talent arriving at the club, but he is now on the radar of Karanka and could feature more in the coming weeks and months.

With that said, here are how the Forest fans reacted to Yates’ tweet following his debut for the Championship side.
