Jack Lankester has expressed his delight at signing a new deal at Ipswich Town that will take him through to the end of the 2022 campaign.

The new three-and-a-half-year deal that was signed on Monday afternoon has the option of a further year extension on top of the current terms.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation since his promotion to the first team and has made the right-back spot his own under Paul Lambert.

Lankester scored his first senior goal on New Year’s Day, breaking the deadlock after two minutes in the 3-2 defeat to Millwall.

Lankester took to Twitter to express his delight at securing new and improved terms despite the club’s position at the bottom of the Championship table.

The teenager has made nine appearances in the second tier since breaking into the first team, scoring once.

Not only did Lankester take to social media to discuss the new contract, but plenty of the club’s supporters did too to reply to the right-back and offer their congratulations to the news.

With that said, here’s how the Ipswich fans reacted on Twitter to the defender’s message after agreeing to new terms with the club.
