Norwich City transfer target Gabriel Sara reportedly flew into England last night in order to finalise his move to Carrow Road.

Sport Witness first reported that he was due to do so on Tuesday, with it now being backed up by Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.

They claim that Sara has flown to England with an entourage that includes his agent, Carlos Leite, with a view to completing a permanent £9 million move to Norfolk.

The above is claimed despite initial reports linking Sara with a move to the club stating it would initially be a loan deal.

Sport Witness have also reported that the club are planning to announce the deal this Saturday, however, they state that it could be made public as soon as Friday, depending on how fast things develop.

The 23-year-old Brazilian will be an exciting addition at Carrow Road given the club are currently in the Championship, and become the first player from Brazil to ever play for the Canaries, as per The Athletic.

Sara has made 113 career appearances to date for Sao Paolo, scoring seventeen goals and laying on nine assists in those matches.

Those appearances include matches in the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana - the South American equivalent of the Champions League and Europa League.

The Verdict

This could be a very exciting acquisition for Norwich City.

It is remarkable that they have never had a Brazilian on the books before, but they will hope that Sara's seemingly impending arrival will be a positive one.

It is certainly an area the club needed to add in, too, with only Kenny McLean and Pierre Lees-Melou the only out and out central midfielders currently on the books at Carrow Road, not including more defensive options like Isaac Hayden and Jacob Sorensen.

Able to play in a variety of positions and roles in the midfield, Sara looks to be a quality and versatile pick up for the Canaries if this one goes through.
