Brentford attacker Sergi Canos will face no further punishment after the Bees' clash with Leeds United at Elland Road despite appearing to headbutt Ezgjan Alioski, report the Yorkshire Evening Post

A Football Association panel failed to unanimously agree on whether the action from Canos towards the Leeds winger constituted a disciplinary offence.

The incident occurred in the 81st minute when the Macedonian attempted to retrieve the ball from the Bees' dugout with the Whites still trailing 1-0.

It was just one controversial incident in the match on Saturday afternoon.

The penalty awarded to Brentford in the second half was questioned by the Whites with Ollie Watkins appearing to already be going down before making contact with Bailey Peacock-Farrell in the Leeds goal.

The result meant that the Whites slipped down into third place with West Brom and Sheffield United both winning to leapfrog them into second and first respectively.

The verdict

It is pretty amazing that the panel have not been able to identify this discipline worthy.

The footage clearly shows the Brentford man moving his head towards Alioski in an aggressive manner. Had the ref seen it is hard to believe he would not have been sent off.

It will not have a huge impact on Leeds' season but they have every right to feel hard done by.
