Lewis Grabban wants to leave Nottingham Forest as former boss Sabri Lamouchi looks to bring the striker to Qatar.
The former Reds chief was dismissed by the Reds earlier this month but he spent little time away from the game as he was quickly named as the new manager of Al Duhail.
And, it was revealed today that Lamouchi wants to sign Grabban before the Qatari deadline passes tomorrow.
It has now been reported by BBC Radio Nottingham that the chance to work with Lamouchi again appeals to the 32-year-old, as he is open to leaving the City Ground.
Whether that means Forest will sell remains to be seen but this is a transfer that will have to develop swiftly given Al Duhail have just over 24 hours to finalise a swoop.
Obviously, the major issue for Chris Hughton would be that he is unable to sign a replacement for Grabban until January if this happened, which may leave him short up top for what is a hectic period up until the New Year.
This puts Forest in a very difficult position as keeping a player who doesn’t want to stay can cause major problems.
But, losing someone who scored 20 goals in the league last season would be a significant risk for a team that wants to win promotion.
So, it’s a very interesting day or so ahead for the Reds and they have a very big decision to make if a suitable offer comes in for the striker from the Qatari side.
