Plenty of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to social media to react to the news that goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has been nominated for the PFA Championship Player of the Month award for December.

The 26-year-old has made 25 appearances for West Brom this season and has played a key role in the Baggies' promising start to their Championship campaign under Slaven Bilic.

The goalkeeper has played every minute of every Championship game so far and enjoyed a superb month in December, where he helped Albion pick up three victories and two draws from their six league matches over the busy festive period.

He pulled off a number of stunning saves during that time and kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over promotion rivals Preston North End at the start of the month.

Johnstone will face competition for the award from Swansea City striker Andre Ayew, Leeds United right-back Luke Ayling, Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees, Cardiff City ace Lee Tomlin and Millwall winger Jed Wallace.
