Many Coventry City fans have taken to Twitter to react to Jodi Jones' message following the winger's decision to sign a new deal with the club.

The 22-year-old's previous deal with the Sky Blues was set to expire in the summer but he has now opted to stay until 2021.

Since joining Coventry from Dagenham & Redbridge in 2016, Jones has experienced a mixed amount of success at the club.

Having played a role in helping the Sky Blues achieve promotion from League Two by providing 11 direct goal contributions for his side, the winger missed the majority last season due to a serious knee injury.

Forced to watch on from the sidelines during the first-half of the 2019/20 campaign as a result of this aforementioned issue, Jones finally made his return to action in the Sky Blues' EFL Trophy clash with Milton Keynes Dons in December.

Although he has only featured once for Coventry since this particular fixture, the winger will be determined to play a key role in the club's push for promotion in the coming months.

Set to face Rochdale on Saturday, the Sky Blues could move up to the top of the League One standings by securing all three points at the Crown Oil Arena.

Reflecting on his decision to extend his stay at Coventry, Jones posted: "The dream continues!

"Absolutely buzzing to sign a new deal at this fantastic football club.

"I was in a bad place, I couldn't do anything including the job I love.

"I've put mad hours to get to where I am now!

"Thank you to everyone who has supported me up until now, hard work pays off."
