Paul Heckingbottom had to deal without midfielder Adam Forshaw for the clash with Brentford on Saturday, and opted to utilise Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O'Kane in midfield.

Hecky setup Leeds in a 4-2-3-1 formation in the 1-0 win over the Bees, and opted to stick with Stuart Dallas out on the wide.

Is it fair to say the Leeds boss got his team selection spot on for the Brentford fixture?

We discuss.....

Adam Forshaw’s absence was a blow, but Heckingbottom did the right thing with who he brought in to replace him.

The way Leeds set up meant they had defensive cover from both wings, whilst Samuel Saiz offered an attacking outlet with Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

The absence of Hernandez was another blow, but Heckingbottom set his side up to deal with the playmaker’s absence.

Full credit to him.

Chris Gallagher

He did, although it was pretty straightforward to start Saiz which was the main difference on Saturday.

However, you can't knock Heckingbottom. They were coming up against an in-form side and put in a strong performance.

That first win will give everyone involved a huge lift.

George Dagless

It looked that way.

It'll be relief that he is off the mark and that Leeds have finally won a league game in 2018.

The play-off charge isn't over yet, either, and so let's see if they can go on another long run.

Sam Preston

He did, he got the balance right.

He knew that Leeds had to push on and get the result but the 4-2-3-1 he put out was also solid enough to keep a very good Brentford side at arm's length.

He was rewarded with his first win as Leeds boss and, somehow, they are now only five points off the play-offs now.
