Fulham weighing up move for Anderlecht winger

Fulham are interested in signing Anderlecht winger Ibrahima Conte before the transfer deadline, according to Belgian website Voetbal Nieuws.

The Guinea international joined the club in 2014, and featured regularly in his first season with the Belgian Pro League side, but has struggled for playing time this season, making just three league appearances.

The Cottagers are currently under a transfer embargo for breaching the league’s Financial Fair Play rules, so could only bring Conte in on loan for the rest of this season.

However, the Championship side face competition for the 24-year-old’s signature though, with Gus Poyet’s AEK Athens also interested, along with Stade Reims of France and Belgian team KV Oostende.

Fulham have already used the loan system to acquire Austrian defender Michael Madl this week, and have an option to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent basis in the summer, which is an option they may consider again if they take Conte on loan.

Slavisa Jokanovic is likely to need attacking additions late in the window, as Moussa Dembele is undergoing a medical with Tottenham Hotspur, while Ross McCormack is also linked with a move away from Craven Cottage.
