Fulham host Swansea City tonight with both sides aiming to pick up a vital three points in the Championship to potentially move them up the table.

Marco Silva’s side head into the game aiming to get back to winning ways after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Bristol City on Saturday.

That result followed on from their 2-1 defeat at home to Reading in their previous match and has seen Fulham slide out of the top two places.

Fulham will be hoping to get back on track and start scoring more goals again in the final third with their attacking players having gone a little quieter in the last two matches.

A win would help Fulham close the gap on the teams above them in the table and help them to keep up with the top two in the Championship.

Swansea City, meanwhile, will be aiming to build on their much-needed 1-0 win against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

That result brought an end to a four-game winless run in the Championship and helped to move the Swans further clear of the relegation places.

It will be important that the Swans manage to build on that victory against Huddersfield and they have been recording clean sheets recently with three in their last four matches.

Team news

Fulham will remain without long-term absentee Terrence Kongolo as he continues his rehabilitation from injury and it is going to be some time before the defender is back available for Silva’s side.

While Fulham are also going to be without another long-term absentee in the form of midfielder Tom Cairney for the visit of Swansea City.

However, Silva speaking to West London Sport ahead of the game with Swansea did reveal that the midfielder is now running outside on the grass as he recovers from his injury.

He did add though that Cairney is yet to be ready to be involved in Fulham’s training sessions at this stage.

The other player that is set to miss out for Fulham is exciting young attacker Fabio Carvalho.

The 19-year-old has missed Fulham’s last four matches in the Championship after enjoying a fine start to the campaign that saw him score three goals in five appearances.

Silva revealed to the media ahead of the game that the attacker is now back in training but this game will come too soon for him in terms of his general fitness.

Swansea, meanwhile, will likely be boosted by the return to the side of defender Rhys Williams after he was absent from their 1-0 win against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Martin in his pre match press conference also revealed that fellow defender Ryan Bennett is also set to be back available for the Swans against Fulham.

That comes after he missed out on the win over Huddersfield due to taking a knock in training ahead of the League Cup tie at Brighton.

However, Martin also revealed that Swansea are likely to be without forward Michael Obafemi, with him unlikely to return from the muscle injury he picked up against Luton Town until their meeting with Derby County.
