Current Fulham manager Scott Parker is set to walk away from Craven Cottage in the next few days, leaving the club facing a very uncertain next few months as they prepare for the 2021/22 Championship season.

With this likely departure, no deals for incoming and outgoing players are likely to be confirmed until a new man is appointed but there's plenty to be done in the next few months at a club looking to dust themselves down, as they search for another second tier promotion next year.

This business is likely to be conducted at the latter end of the window - but this hasn't stopped rumours engulfing Craven Cottage and there is already speculation about who's joining, who's staying, and who's leaving after the club published their retained list at the start of June.

We take a look at some of the latest transfer rumours surrounding the Cottagers at this early stage in the window.

Leeds United not in the running for Reed

Central midfielder Harrison Reed was linked with a move to Elland Road earlier this month by the Daily Mail after performing well in the Premier League last season.

However, yesterday's report from the Yorkshire Evening Post has put this link in doubt, with the local outlet believing the 26-year-old is not on Marcelo Bielsa's radar this summer.

He first joined Fulham in August 2019 before joining on a permanent £6m deal from Southampton the following summer and still has three years left on his current deal.

Reed made 31 appearances for the Cottagers last season but was unable to save the Cottagers from relegation - and with this fresh update on his future - he could be set to compete in the second tier next season.

Fulham target subject of Millwall approach

Millwall have launched a bid for Fulham target and Sheffield Wednesday forward Josh Windass, as per a report from the Sheffield Star.

The 27-year-old is understood to have one more year left on his deal at Hillsborough and with the Owls being relegated to the third tier last month, interested sides could potentially negotiate a cut-price deal for the forward.

One of those interested sides is Fulham, who may have the resources needed to lure him to Craven Cottage over other Championship clubs, even if there is a bidding war.

However, if the Lions have indeed made a bid, Fulham may have to move quickly to seal this deal if he's at the top of their shortlist.

Rival to not force move for Cairney

According to The Star again, Sheffield United will not force through a deal for 30-year-old Tom Cairney, who could be set to reunite with Slavisa Jokanovic this summer.

The pair enjoyed a successful spell at Craven Cottage and won promotion together in 2018, with Cairney scoring the winner in the playoff final.

However, Jokanovic says his new Sheffield United side are the best he's inherited in England and may feel the 30-year-old's signature is not a necessity this summer.

This is potentially good news for a Fulham side who will want an experienced man like Cairney in the squad with the likely managerial change - and have slapped a £10m price tag on him. At this price, the Blades could decide against pursuing this deal.
