Fulham face a tricky looking trip this weekend when they travel to face Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Potters have been struggling badly this season but picked up their first win before the international break against high-flying Swansea, so Scott Parker and co will need to make sure they are prepared.

However, it appears that their preparations took a bit of a strange turn on Thursday afternoon when a few of the players took part in a round of treatment room golf.

Midfielder Stefan Johansen shared footage on his Instagram story of goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli taking his put.

The putter appeared to consist of two crutches tied together, the ball of the tennis variety and the hole made of some foam packaging and a thin cardboard ramp.

Unfortunately for Bettinelli he sliced his shot badly wide of the mark, much to the delight of himself and the onlooking Johansen.

The big question now is how will it work as a method of match preparation? I guess we will find out soon.

The verdict

It is good to know that professional footballers also get so bored that they are forced to make up their own games on the spot like this.

It is also a good job for Fulham that Bettinelli is a much better goalkeeper than he is a golfer, with his putting effort leaving a lot to be desired.

What I do know is that I am now hooked, and hope to see plenty more from the Fulham training ground.
