Championship promotion hopefuls Fulham are hoping to sign Preston North End defender Greg Cunningham, according to a report by HITC Sport.

The impressive defender has been one of the standout performers for the Lancashire club over the past few seasons, and has caught the eye of Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic. However, the Cottagers will face competition for Cunningham, with West Brom also interested in landing the former Manchester City man.

The 27-year-old made the move to Deepdale back in 2015, and has established himself as a key performer for the club after establishing himself in the second tier and below with former club Bristol City.

His showings this season have not gone unnoticed once again, as Preston have made an unlikely challenge for a playoff spot under manager Alex Neil, and this has seemingly drawn admiring glances from those watching on, with both Fulham and the Baggies keen.

Cunningham will have as big decision to make on his future. Fulham could potentially swap places with West Brom in terms of league, but Cunningham will also know he has regular first team football at the moment, something which he might well be keen not to jeapordise.

Fulham fans, would this be a good signing? Preston fans, how good is Cunningham? Let us know your thoughts!
