Fulham could make their first foray into the transfer market by brining in Jovane Cabral, according to Portuguese outlet Record.

The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene at Sporting Lisbon, and his form has prompted Fulham to take an interest in signing him.

The Cottagers are believed to want the winger on loan, with the possibility of making him permanent in a £10m deal.

Cabral enjoyed a breakthrough season for Sporting last season, and in 31 appearances scored four goals and made eight assists.

Employed primarily as a left-winger, Cabral would bring explosive pace to Craven Cottage. He excels at taking on defenders and providing opportunities for his team-mates, and would suit Fulham very well in the Championship.

Many of his appearances came from the bench last season, and Fulham could use him similarly next season as he could take time to adjust to the Championship.

Fulham could be in need of a left-winger this summer. Ryan Babel has already departed and Ryan Sessegnon could also leave, which would leave Floyd Ayité as the only player who can play there.

The Verdict

Cabral is still unknown but he has a lot of raw talent which could be of great benefit to Fulham. His fast-paced attacking drive gives an indication of the way Scott Parker will look to play next year, and Fulham fans can begin to feel excited about the prospect of lots of goals.

It may take a while for the Sporting man to adjust to English football, but he should impress from the off if he gets an opportunity as a sub. A potential loan deal with a clause to make it permanent could work very well for Fulham, if he doesn't work out it will not cost the club too much.
