Fulham have today been boosted with the news that influential striker Ross McCormack has put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract, according to HITC Sport.

McCormack signed for the west London side last summer in a whopping £11 million deal but had attracted interest from the Premier League during this transfer window.

McCormack joined Fulham following some superb form with Leeds United and former Cottagers boss Felix Magath decided to part with such a hefty fee, after identifying the Scotsman as the man to fire the club back into the Premier League.

The Scotland international smashed 17 goals last season, despite not getting his first until September, and played a big part in helping Fulham climb the Championship under Kit Symons.

The striker is a born goalscorer and always gives maximum effort for his side, the news of an extended deal will come as a real boost for Symons, as they look for a considerable improvement on last season.

The club began their 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw away at Cardiff City – Matt Smith opened the scoring for the side, before Cardiff winger Craig Noone scored a sublime goal that meant it finished 1-1.

Fulham fans… Do you welcome this news? How good is McCormack? Can he fire you to the Premier League this season? Let us know your thoughts and opinions below!
