Fulham star issues rallying cry and insists it’s ‘now or never’ for some of their players

Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney has insisted that it is ‘now or never’ for his team in terms of promotion to the Premier League, ahead of a crucial weekend of football in the Championship.

Fulham travel to Birmingham knowning only a win will do for them to be in with a shout of automatic promotion, while they will be relying on Reading to do the business at Cardiff City to prevent Neil Warnock’s men from reaching the top flight.

And speaking to the Mirror via a report by Sky Sports, star midfielder Cairney said that Fulham really need to ensure they win promotion now, with some of thei players attracting plenty of attention from Premier League sides already.

“To keep this team together, we need to do it now. I just think we’re attracting a lot of attention and so are our players.” added Cairney.

The midfielder has been key to the success of the Cottagers this season, with his impressive form in the middle of the park being a huge factor in the exciting passing football the club have employed this campaign under manager Slavisa Jokanovic.

Cairney himself is already the subject of plenty of interest from the top flight, and it will be a bitter blow for the club if they cannot seal their top flight return after such an excellent season.

Fulham fans, do you agree with Cairney? Let us know in the comments!
