Ryan Sessegnon is very much the man of the moment, touted for a call up to the England side and catching the eye of scouts from clubs across the country.

Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool are all rumoured to be tracking the teenager after some eye-catching displays on the left for Fulham. He's helped the Cottagers to nine wins in their last 11 matches, scoring seven times during that run.

Former Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda doesn't believe a move to White Hart Lane would be the right one for the young defender though amidst concerns about his potential playing time.

"He's still young, he's good for the Championship but there's a difference between being good in the Championship and arriving in the Premier League," the Frenchman told Betstars. "If he comes to Spurs he won't play regularly or may go out on loan, he will only come on sometimes and that's really hard for the player. I think he needs to go to a team below Spurs, where he will play football."

Chimbonda made 68 appearances for Spurs over two spells for the club, either side of a brief spell at Sunderland. He made his name playing for Wigan Athletic before joining Spurs in 2006.

The Verdict

These are wise words from a defender who perhaps isn't best placed to offer transfer advice. Chimbonda angered Paul Jewell with the manner of his departure from the DW Stadium, but maybe he's passing on the lessons he learned to the youngster. I don't think it matters though, Ryan Sessegnon will almost certainly join a big side this summer.
