Fulham's inconsistency is holding them back from mounting a serious promotion challenge this season.

There have been some exhilarating highs, like the 5-0 victory over high-flying Huddersfield and the sneaky smash and grab 1-0 win against champions-elect Newcastle United on the opening day of the season.

But amongst these have also been some irritating losses, such as a 4-0 home loss to Bristol City and a slip-up in the London derby against Queens Park Rangers, where Fulham missed two penalties in a 2-1 loss at Craven Cottage.

Jokanovic has some talented players at his disposal and the likes of Tomas Kalas and Tom Cairney are really shining in this side, who sit just 4 points off a play-off spot.

But Jokanovic might be tempted to dip into the January window to strengthen his side and the loan market is the best value for money in the winter.

Here are three London-based players that could be convinced to stay local and join Fulham on loan.

Reece Oxford

Reece Oxford

Reece Oxford burst onto the scene last season when he starred as man of the match on his debut away at Arsenal but has not played much football since then for West Ham.

The Hammers are blessed with Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna as their first choice centre backs while James Collins, Cheikhou Kouyate and Havard Nordveit have all filled in at centre half too.

The 17-year-old is clearly a big part of West Ham's future plans but a loan move to the Championship would be the ideal place to cultivate the talents of the versatile England under-20 captain, who can also play as a defensive midfielder.

Josh Onomah

Talented young attacking midfielder Josh Onomah needs a loan spell to really prove that he's as good as everyone thinks he will be one day.

The England under-21 man can play as a central attacking midfielder or on the wing but seems to have dropped below Harry Winks in the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

Fulham could get the best out of the 19-year-old in a half-season loan by offering him plenty of first team football.

Jordon Mutch

Mutch

While Jordon Mutch is definitely out of the first team picture, Crystal Palace are under no pressure to sell below his value and therefore a loan might be more suitable.

The talented central midfielder has only played one Premier League match this season and looks set for a January move.

Fulham could offer to take the 24-year-old on loan in an attempt to help him rediscover the form he displayed at Birmingham and Cardiff.
