According to reports in the Mail Online, Sky Bet Championship side Fulham are set to raid rivals Brentford for their player of the year Toumani Diagouraga.
The midfielder was voted player of the year by the Bees fans at Griffin Park after the maestro was instrumental during their fantastic first season in the second tier of English football.
Mark Warburton’s side finished fifth in the league but were knocked out of the play-offs by Middlesbrough who now face Norwich City in the final on Monday 25th of May.
French-Malian Diagouraga started his career in English football, with Watford and went on to play for Peterborough United. In 2010, the central midfielder moved to Brentford and was an immediate hit with the fans.
During the latter stages of the 2013/2014 season, his luck was running out as he was sent on loan to Portsmouth where his fortunes changed. As he arrived back at Griffin Park, he was thrown straight back into the team and his performances in the previous championship campaign have not gone unnoticed.
However, his admirers Fulham had a much worse season than Brentford as they finished 17th in the league, but manager Kit Symons obviously believes that adding the powerful midfielder to his ranks will help improve the team’s position during the next Championship season.
Fulham fans, do you think signing Diagouraga would be a good signing? Brentford fans, would you like to see the midfielder stay at the club?
