Watford defender Craig Dawson continues to attract the interest of Fulham, who also hold an interest in signing Juan Foyth from Tottenham.

It has been a nightmare start to the Premier League season for the Cottages, who have lost three on the bounce and conceded 10 goals in the process against Arsenal, Leeds United and, last night, Aston Villa.

Scott Parker remains on the lookout for a new centre-back, with Sky Sports reporting there’s an interest in Foyth at Spurs, as well as Dawson, who Fulham are continuing to monitor.

Quiz: 6 of these Watford facts are false – Can you identify them?

As per the Transfer Centre (28/09, 20:03), Dharmesh Sheth has said: “They still in the market for a central defender and are interested in Tottenham Juan Foyth and they are also still looking at Craig Dawson and his situation at Watford, and he has only played in the League Cup for them so far this season."

The 30-year-old made 29 appearances in the Premier League last season for Watford, scoring two goals. However, he was not able to help the Hornets slipping back into the Championship.

Dawson’s only appearance for Watford in the current campaign came in the League Cup against Newport County.

The defender was an unused substitute on Saturday as Watford beat Luton Town.

The Verdict

It’s quite clear that Fulham’s defence needs a little bit of work this summer.

Dawson and Foyth are at opposite ends of their careers, but both would be hugely positive signings for Parker.

In terms of Dawson, it’s easy to see how things can develop. He’s not entirely in the picture at Watford and looking like he could be shifted out.
