According to The Times, Fulham owner Shahid Khan has insisted that Ryan Sessegnon will remain at the club this summer.

Fulham are heading for the Premier League after beating Aston Villa 1-0 in the play-off final, with Sessegnon providing the assist for Tom Cairney's winner.

That took the recently-turned 18-year-old's tally to a staggering 16 goals and eight assists this term, having been transformed from a left-back into a left-winger by Slavisa Jokanovic.

Unsurprisingly, Sessegnon has attracted interest from some top clubs across Europe.

But Fulham's owner Khan wants the talented teenager to lead Fulham's attack in the top flight.

Khan told The Times:

"We don't want Sessegnon leaving. I don't think he wants to go. He's going to be at Fulham for the coming year, leading us into the Premier League.

"Frankly, if we had not been promoted, well, we have a responsibility to our players. He's been there since he was eight. We want to do the right thing for him and he is Fulham through and through."

The England under-21 international has had a remarkable season, culminating in promotion after being crowned as the EFL Championship Player of the Year.

Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Manchester United, PSG and Barcelona are among the clubs keen on the Fulham starlet.

The Verdict

Sessegnon should stay at Fulham and be the star man going into their Premier League campaign.

He has been at the club since he was a young boy and it is the perfect environment for him to continue his learning as he is settled, adored by the fans and he has a free role in Jokanovic's flowing style of play.

If Sessegnon can carry his form into the Premier League, there is no reason why he cannot be a £50m+ player and a full England international by this time next summer.
