It has been an excellent start to life back in the Championship for Fulham this season.

Following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, the Cottagers have made a strong push for an immediate return to the top-flight in the past few months.

Marco Silva's side currently sit second in the Championship table, one point clear of the play-off places, following their 4-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Perhaps not surprisingly therefore, there has been plenty of new coming out of Craven Cottage over the course of the past few days.

So with that in mind, we've taken a look at some of the biggest Fulham news stories to have emerged recently.

Liverpool target Carvalho

One player who certainly impressed for Fulham at the start of this season, was Fabio Carvalho.

Having broken onto the scene during the latter stages of the previous campaign, a number of clubs were linked with the young winger over the summer, although no deal materialised.

Carvalho then scored three goals and provided one assist in Fulham's first five league games of this season, although he has not featured since due to injury or illness, although that hasn't stopped the list of potential suitors for the 19-year-old from growing.

As exclusively revealed by Football League World, Liverpool are the latest club to enter the frame for a deal, with the Merseyside club monitoring Carvalho's situation, as his contract at Craven Cottage enters its final few months.

Silva sends clear message to Quina

One player whose season is yet to really get going at Craven Cottage, is Domingos Quina.

Having joined Fulham on a season-long loan deal from Watford in the summer transfer window, Quina has so far made just two league appearances for Fulham, the last of which came in the 4-1 win over Birmingham back in September.

Now it seems as though the midfielder may need to step up his efforts if he is to force his way back into the side.

Speaking recently to West London Sport about Quina's lack of game time, Silva insisted that the Portugal Under 21 must work harder, both on the pitch and in training, if he is start more games for the Cottagers moving forward.

Deeney issues Fulham promotion verdict

It seems that it is not just those in and around Fulham who will be expecting the club to push for promotion this season.

Instead, those from elsewhere in the second-tier appear to be expecting the Cottagers to be on another level in the battle for a race to the Premier League.

Speaking in an interview with FourFourTwo, Birmingham striker Troy Deeney admitted his side are one of a number of clubs who believe they can compete for a place in the play-offs this season, claiming that Fulham and West Brom are the only Championship teams who believe they can claim automatic promotion.

De Havilland finds new club

One player who saw his time with Fulham come to an end this summer who has now found a new club, is Ryan De Havilland.

The midfielder was released by the Cottagers at the end of his contract earlier this summer, having never made a senior appearance for the club.

The 20-year-old was reportedly on trial with Portsmouth earlier in the season, but has now found a new club elsewhere, after it was announced that De Havilland has put pen to paper on a long-term permanent contract with Barnet, who are currently 18th in the National League table.
