Fulham are in talks over the signing of former Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to Rebecca Williams of Sky Sports News.
The 32-year old, who scored eight times in his 22 games at the Bernabeu and 62 times in 142 appearances at Arsenal, is a free agent after he was released by Crystal Palace in the summer.
He had scored just one in 12 for Alan Pardew’s team, and was constantly met with doubt over whether he was still fit enough and had the right attitude to play in the Premier League.
With little offers coming elsewhere, it appears that he has turned to the Championship, and Fulham. Slavisa Jokanovic is in the market for a striker following the double departure of Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele.
They have brought in Sone Aluko, but only currently have Matt Smith and young Cauley Woodrow as out and out strikers.
Adebayor knows where the net is, and has scored in most of the clubs he’s played for.
He’s had spells at Metz, Monaco, Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Tottenham and Crystal Palace, and the Fulham management team appears to be trying to make his next club the Cottagers.
Fulham currently sit second place in the Championship, with 11 points and are just two points behind surprise leaders Huddersfield.
