Fulham are said to be some way off meeting Real Betis' valuation for left-back Alex Moreno, according to Estadio Deportivo.

The Championship title winners are on the lookout for fresh faces upon their return to the Premier League and have been linked with a plethora of players plying their trade across Europe already.

One player that has emerged on their radar is Moreno, a 29-year-old full-back who had a real eye for goal for Betis last season in La Liga, scoring five times and assisting a further four goals in 30 outings.

Moreno also featured eight times in Betis' run to winning the Copa del Rey, as well as playing seven matches in the UEFA Europa League, meaning he totalled 45 appearances in all competitions.

Per Estadio Deportivo though, Fulham's initial offer of around €10 million is lower than what Betis want for the Spaniard if they are going to cash in on his services.

Betis are said to be demanding at least €15 million for Moreno, with a further €3 million in added bonuses, with the Spanish outlet claiming that an agreement is 'not close' between the two clubs.

The Verdict

Despite Fulham having two very competent left-backs in Antonee Robinson and Joe Bryan, there's always scope for improvement now that the club are back in the Premier League.

And judging on what he's done this past season, Moreno would be a big improvement on what Marco Silva currently has at his disposal.

Moreno is a very attack-minded full-back who would give the Cottagers a fresh outlet going forward on the left flank.

It will take a significant fee to land the Spaniard though, and perhaps because he is 29 years old and the club wouldn't be able to make any profit on him, they are perhaps thinking twice when it comes to pulling the trigger on this specific deal.
