Fulham have bolstered their goalkeeper ranks by signing young Chicago Fire shot-stopper Damian Las.

The 17-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Craven Cottage and will join up with the Whites' under-18 side.

Las has no experience in English football but has featured for the USA Under-17s in various training camps.

Marcus Bettinelli has been the first-choice goalkeeper for Fulham so far this season. The 27-year-old has conceded five goals in six Championship appearances, keeping two clean sheets.

Fulham are one of the teams hoping to challenge for automatic promotion this season and are currently sixth in the Championship table after taking ten points from their opening six league matches.

Scott Parker's side are without a win in their last three matches in all competitions and will be hoping to return to winning ways against West Bromwich Albion after the international break.

The Verdict

This could be a good signing for Fulham, although it could be some time before we see Las make an impact for the first team at Craven Cottage, given his lack of experience.

He certainly seems like a talented young goalkeeper though. Fulham wouldn't have signed him unless he had potential to be a top goalkeeper and he's definitely one to watch for the future.

He must now keep is head now and concentrate on working hard in training, in the hope that he can impress Parker. It'll be interesting to see how he adapts to English football and whether he can make an impact at Craven Cottage.
