Fulham eyeing up move for Premier League defender

Fulham are being linked with a move for Watford defender Juan Carlos Paredes, according to South American website Bolavip.

A 29-year-old defender, Paredes has been told by Watford boss Walter Mazzarri that he has no future at Vicarage Road having missed the club’s pre-season tour to Austria.

The Ecuadorian international rarely featured in any pre-season games and it very much seems like his Hornets career is over before it really began.

After making the move to Vicarage Road from Granada in 2014, he played only 20 times last season, mostly featuring as a fringe substitute player.

But this comes as good news for Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic, who is looking to add a couple of names to his squad after their impressive 1-0 victory over Newcastle last week.

And with Cottagers full-back Ryan Fredericks being ruled out for at least ten weeks after an injury in pre-season, Paredes could be the perfect player to slot in for defensive cover.
