Sky Bet Championship Fulham are preparing a transfer bid for Manchester United defender Reece James, according to London 24.
Following a steady season last year, Fulham boss Kit Symons will look to create a squad capable of pushing for promotion to the Premier League.
It”s yet to be seen if United boss Louis van Gaal will let the youngster, who has one senior United appearance, leave on a permanent deal. However, as the highly rated left-back just signed at a new contract with the club in February a loan may be seem to be the more likely option.
James, 21, who has had recent experience in the Championship with Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town, has been the subject of loan interest this summer with Nottingham Forest keen to take the youngster on a loan deal.
Fulham are the latest club to show an interest in the young defender, but are instead willing to buy James in an attempt to beat other clubs to his signature.
Following the departure of Bryan Ruiz and Patrick Roberts this summer, Symons will be keen to make some additions to the side which finished 17th in last season’s Championship season.
The Cottagers were extremely poor last season and where ultimately very close to getting relegated to Sky Bet League One, so Symons will be eager to rejuvenate the London club and get them back to their former glory.
