AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is attracting the interest of Premier League new boys Fulham.

The 2019/20 season brought contrasting fortunes for the two clubs, with Bournemouth relegated into the Championship and Fulham winning promotion through the play-offs.

Naturally, Bournemouth are at risk of key player sales and Wilson, an England international, is one of those in-demand.

Quiz: Do you remember which club Fulham signed these 15 players from?

As per The Telegraph, Fulham are interested in swooping to sign Wilson from Bournemouth as Scott Parker looks to add Premier League experience to his promotion-winning squad.

Wilson, 28, featured on 35 occasions in the Premier League last season, scoring eight goals and registering one assist, but it wasn’t enough to keep Eddie Howe’s side’s heads above water.

The England international’s best return in the Premier League came the season before, with Wilson scoring 14 goals and registering nine assists in only 30 appearances during 2018/19.

For Fulham, they relied heavily on the goals of Aleksandar Mitrovic last season in the Championship, with his 26 goals manoeuvring the side into play-off contention.

He missed the bulk of the play-offs, though, with Parker’s side showing enough quality to win promotion to the Premier League without the Serbian.

The Verdict

Wilson would be some coup for Fulham this summer.

The striker has been a regular fix in the Premier League during Bournemouth’s top-flight stay, with his form in 2018/19 making him one of English football’s leading marksmen.

He’s going to be heading back to the Premier League this summer you’d imagine, but where that is remains to be seen.

Fulham are being ambitious by chasing his signature and if they get him, fair play to them.
