Fulham have announced that midfielder, Mattias Kait has left the club to join Slovenian side, NK Domzale on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Scottish side, Ross County last season, where he made five league appearances in total.

But he seemingly didn't do enough to warrant a place in the Fulham first-team ahead of next year's campaign back in the Championship.

Scott Parker's side were relegated from the Premier League in their first season back in the top-flight.

Kait has been a regular for the Estonian national side, and recently featured in their 8-0 defeat to Germany in their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

The midfielder was a regular for the Fulham under 23's side in recent years, but never broke through to the first-team, which will certainly have come as a frustration.

He first joined Fulham as an academy player back in 2014, after signing from Estonian side, FCI Levadia Tallinn.

Kait earned a new deal with Fulham back in 2017, that would extend his contract until the summer of 2019, but he's evidently not in their plans for the future.

Parker will be hoping to make new signings to help aid their promotion bid next season, but it wouldn't come as a surprise to see other players heading for the exit door at Craven Cottage before the season gets underway in August.

The Verdict:

This isn't a surprise at all.

Kait was never going to force his way into the Fulham first-team anytime soon and this is the best move for both parties involved before the season gets underway.

Fulham need to trim their squad ahead of next season as they adjust to life in the Championship.
