Fulham are at risk of losing a number of high-profile players this summer, along with Slavisa Jokanovic, if a Premier League return is not achieved.

Jokanovic’s side take on Aston Villa at Wembley this afternoon in the Sky Bet Championship’s play-off final, with the winner set to join Wolves and Cardiff City back in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail, the importance of promotion for Fulham stretches beyond the financial rewards, with a number of consequences set to follow if this afternoon’s result is defeat.

16-goal Ryan Sessegnon could well be on his way to the Premier League without Fulham, with the influential forward attracting interest from the top-flight’s elite clubs.

Tottenham and Manchester United are keen to take Sessegnon away from Fulham, according to some reports, with eye-watering transfer fees quoted.

Fulham are also at risk of losing their manager, Jokanovic, who is attracting interest from Chelsea, after impressively leading Fulham to back-to-back play-off appearances.

Tom Cairney is also likely to be in-demand this summer after another excellent campaign in midfield, whilst Fulham’s chance of signing Aleksandar Mitrovic permanently will be dashed if promotion isn’t achieved.

The Verdict

Promotion this afternoon is so important for Fulham, particularly if they want to keep the management team and group of players together for an extended period.

Premier League interest in the Championship’s best is a given, but how good Fulham’s group are will attract big interest, from big clubs.

It Fulham are to retain all their service this summer, they have to win promotion.

However, promotion will be equally important for Aston Villa this weekend.
