Fulham and West Bromwich Albion are battling to secure a deal for Aden Flint this summer, with Bristol City willing to let the defender leave if their £9m valuation is met, according to the Daily Star.

Slavisa Jokanovic is a big fan of the Bristol City defender and, following Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League on Saturday, he is looking to add to his squad.

West Brom, who are preparing for return to the Sky Bet Championship, are long-term admirers of Flint and planning on moving for the 28-year-old to replace Jonny Evans.

Flint has impressed during his spell at Ashton Gate, making 246 appearances for the Robins over five years and scoring 38 goals from defence.

The 2017/18 campaign was perhaps Flint’s most impressive, with the towering defender helping Lee Johnson’s side challenge for the play-offs and also reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Flint featured on 46 occasions across all competitions and scored an impressive nine goals.

Bristol City moved to secure the defender’s long-term future earlier in 2018, with Flint agreeing fresh terms at Ashton Gate until the summer of 2021.

Despite that deal, the Star are reporting that if Bristol City’s £9m valuation is met, Flint can leave.

The Verdict

Flint has had such an impressive year with Bristol City and the Robins will have expected interest in the defender.

At £9m, Flint will be seen as good value to both Fulham and West Brom, who will be looking to make an impact in the Premier League and Championship, respectively.

Whether Flint can replicate the same level of form next season could be debated, but you’d imagine both Jokanovic and Darren Moore would back his ability after a superb year.
