Richards has just a single year left on his existing contract at the Liberty Stadium, and is set to depart the Welsh club in an attempt to play regular first-team football.

Fulham would seem the most likely to persuade the Wales international to leave the Swans given that he spent the second half of last season on loan at Craven Cottage, making 14 appearances in the process.

Kit Symons is said to have been impressed with the player's performances and attitude and would be keen to secure a permanent deal for the player.

It now looks as though the Cottagers could face competition for the player's signature however with Derby County and newly-relegated Queens Park Rangers also carefully monitoring the situation, with both club's looking for a tilt at promotion next season.
