Blackpool winger Josh Bowler has emerged as a late January transfer window target for Fulham and Bournemouth, a report from Football Insider has claimed.

Bowler joined Blackpool on a free transfer from Everton in the summer, signing a one-year contract at Bloomfield Road, with the Seasiders holding the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

The winger has scored two goals and provided three assists in 30 games for Blackpool this season, attracting plenty of attention in the process.

Nottingham Forest have reportedly had a number of bids rejected for Bowler this month, and it now seems as though there is interest in Bowler from elsewhere in the Championship as well.

According to this latest update, both Fulham and Bournemouth are working hard to secure the signing of Bowler before the window cloeses on Monday night.

It is thought that both clubs are now expected to make bids for the 22-year-old in the next couple of days.

The Verdict

It is probably no surprise that this sort of interest is emerging in Bowler as the window draws to a close.

With clubs circling, others are likely to start taking their own interest in a player, since they are not going to want to miss out on a potential bargain.

As a result, there now looks to be quite a battle for the services of Bowler, who does have some decent choices in the promotion race to choose from, if he is to move on.

But with Blackpool having already rejected a number of bids for his services, it seems there is no guarantee that the 22-year-old will in fact be on the move in the next few days.
