Sky Sports have reported that Championship play-off semi finalists Fulham have agreed a £5m fee for Bordeaux forward Diego Rolan.

The next step for Slavisa Jokanovic's men is to agree personal terms with the player and convince him to become a part of their promotion push.

Yesterday, French publication l'Equipe reported that Rolan had returned to London for a second round of talks with the Cottagers.

The report explained that Rolan had returned to France after failing to come to an agreement with the Craven Cottage outfit earlier this week.

However, the Whites will hope that having a fee agreed will pave the way for Rolan to agree terms with the club and move to allay fears that he wants to spend next season in the Premier League, with Newcastle United reportedly among the interested parties.

Having arrived at the French club in 2013, Rolan has made 121 league appearances for Les Girondins, finding the back of the net on 33 occasions.

The 24-year-old forward looks set to be used mainly as a central striker if he does complete a move to Craven Cottage, given Fulham's current lack of striking options, following the departures of Chris Martin and Cyriac after their respective loan deals came to an end.

However, he can also operate from either wing and has laid on twelve assists during his time in the French top flight.

The speedster has played 23 times for his country, netting on four occasions and may hope that consistent first team football in West London would boost his hopes of making the Uruguay squad for next summer's World Cup in Russia.
