QPR's Luke Freeman is set to be ruled out of their game against Middlesbrough this weekend, according to West London Sport.

Freeman picked up the injury late on in QPR's defeat to West Brom on Tuesday, and QPR boss, Steve McClaren is hoping that the injury sustained isn't a serious one.

"He's got a hip flexor (problem) and it’s hopefully not too bad.

"It will be tough to recover him in three days but it’s hopefully not too serious."

QPR were left to play the remaining minutes of their game against the Baggies with ten men after Freeman left the pitch, with the Hoops having already made all of their substitutions.

Freeman has been QPR's standout player for the majority of this season, and news of his potential absence will be a significant worry for both Steve McClaren and the QPR supporters.

The former Arsenal youngster has six goals and four assists to his name already, and scored in the defeat to the Baggies yesterday.

QPR will be hoping that he can return to action at the earliest of opportunities to help turn their poor run of form around.

The Hoops have lost their last six league games, and face a tough ask if they are to pick up any points this weekend against a Middlesbrough side who are challenging for promotion.

The Verdict:

This would be a huge blow for Steve McClaren's side.

Freeman has been at the heart of their positive results this season and his creativity will leave QPR with real issues going forward against Middlesbrough.

I can't see them coming away with anything from this game without Freeman in their side.
