On a thrilling night of Championship action, the biggest winners were Fulham.

The West London side finally broke into the top two, something their wonderful form thoroughly deserves.

There's still a lot of football to be played, but their win against Reading, combined with Villa's late victory against Cardiff City, has put them into the automatic promotion spots for the first time this season.

However, forward Floyd Ayite missed last night's game and is set for a spell on the treatment table.

According to West London Sport, he's picked up a hamstring injury that will rule him out for up to ten days.

He will certainly miss the derby against Brentford this weekend as the Cottagers look to cement their place in the top two. There's on outside chance he could miss another London derby too, away at Millwall on April 20.

The 29-year old joined from French side Bastia in July 2016 and has four goals from 27 outings so far this season.

The Verdict

It is injury news, but it isn't likely to derail their season at all. Ayite is a fringe player at Craven Cottage and although Fulham need to play the squad game over the next five matches, he won't be as big a miss as someone such as Aleksandar Mitrovic might have been.

If they go up, expect him to move elsewhere in the Championship in the summer.
