21-year- old Joe Worrall is keen to get back into the Nottingham Forest side after losing his place recently, but he amits as long as the team is winning, he's happy.

Worrall is a product of the Forest youth academy and is a local lad, born in nearby Hucknall.

He signed for Forest as a 14-year old and has steadily progressed through a loan spell at Dagenham to the first team at the City Ground.

He's made 39 appearances this season and even notched his first goal in the 3-2 win against Bolton in December.

However, since the arrival of Tobais Figueiredo, chances have become few and far between. Coupled with the form of Danny Fox, Worrall has had to be patient.

“It is frustrating, but I’m really not bothered as long as we’re winning,” Worrall told the Nottingham Post.

“For me, as a young lad, I need to be playing as much as possible. But I think I needed a little bit of a rest. I’d been away last summer (for the Toulon Tournament) and have played a lot of games this season. It was only a matter of time before I picked up a little knock or something that would set me back for a bit."

Worrall revealed that he feels the spell on the side lines can ultimately help him become a better player.

“I just think that me being out of the team for a little bit has done me good. I can come back stronger and hopefully help Forest out when I’m back. For me, I’m definitely disappointed to be out of the team, but as long as we’re not losing games it’s a really good thing. It’s all about momentum in the league with Forest at the moment. We’re not losing games and we’re keeping clean sheets."

The Verdict

At 21, Worrall still has much to look forward to and his spell out of the side should be a good learning curve for him.

Forest are a side in transition and there will be many changes throughout the next few months, but if he can remain in the manager's thoughts then there's no reason he won't add to his appearance tally again.
