Barnsley are certainly staking a strong claim for an immediate return to the Championship, with Daniel Stendel already making his mark on his current crop of players.

The Tykes are currently sat 3rd in the League 1 table, and are just four points adrift of Portsmouth who currently occupy top spot.

Stendel's side are heading into their game against Doncaster Rovers this weekend in an excellent run of form having won their last three successive league games.

Kieffer Moore and Brad Potts have both been leading from the front for Barnsley and Stendel will be keen to hold on to his key pair in January when the transfer window reopens.

Could the Barnsley boss be tempted to make some signings to help aid their title ambitions this season, with Barnsley certainly boasting one of the strongest squads in League 1 in recent years.

But who should Stendel be targeting in January to add to his squad ahead of the promotion run in?

Find out here....

The Derby centre-back has barely featured for the Rams and doesn't seem to be in Frank Lampard's plans anytime soon.

Pearce only made five starts in total last season for Derby and having only been used as a late substitute against his former club, Reading this season, he is likely to be heading for the exit door when the transfer window reopens.

He would be an excellent addition to have at League 1 level.

The Reading striker has struggled for game time this season and is surely looking for a potential loan deal out of the Championship strugglers in January.

McNulty will be keen to rediscover the form that made him a fans favourite at Coventry, and if he can do that, then it's highly likely that McNulty will fire Barnsley back into the Championship following last season's relegation.

The Chelsea youngster has impressed for the Blues youth teams and could be tempted by a loan move in January.

Gilmour is yet to move out on loan in his career, but could certainly benefit from a move in January to secure regular first-team football in the senior side of the game.

His creativity and eye for goal would be an excellent addition for the League 1 side.

Eisa's rise up the English football ladder is a remarkable achievement and he was fully deserving of a transfer to Bristol City in the summer.

But injury troubles have limited his game time and it seems unlikely that he will be able to force his way into Lee Johnson's starting XI anytime soon.

He is proven in the lower leagues and Eisa could be the perfect signing to fire Barnsley to promotion.

Furlong impressed in his breakthrough season for QPR last season but has struggled for a run of games in this years campaign.

He was ruled out through injury for the majority of this season but since his return, he has been unable to dislodge Angel Rangel who seems to have all but cemented his place in the starting XI.

A loan move could be the best move for both parties involved here.
