Gary Rowett hasn't endured the start that he would have hoped for as Stoke have struggled in their bid for an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Potters are currently sat 14th in the Championship table in what has been a bitterly disappointing start to the season, but they have shown promising signs in recent weeks.

They are unbeaten in their last four league games and will be hoping to build on the momentum they built before the international break.

Rowett's side host QPR this weekend in what will be a game where they will hope can be the catalyst for the Potters to kick on this season.

The Stoke boss will be hoping for his big name players to step up and fire them back into the top-flight, but Rowett could be tempted to make some additions to his squad to strengthen his squad ahead of the promotion run in.

But who could Stoke sign in January when the transfer window reopens?

Find out here....

The goalkeeper has recently emerged as the main candidate to replace Jack Butland, should he leave for the Premier League in the January transfer window according to Football Insider.

Forster will be after regular game time having fallen down to third-choice at Southampton behind Alex McCarthy and Angus Gunn.

The Southampton centre-back has struggled to build on his breakthrough season last year for the Saints.

With the return of Maya Yoshida from injury, Stephens is unlikely to be able to nail down a place in the starting XI and could be tempted with a loan move to the Championship to secure regular first-team football.

He would be an excellent addition to the Stoke defence and would challenge the likes of Ryan Shawcross and Ashley Williams for a starting spot with Gary Rowett's side.

The Scottish winger has found first-team opportunities hard to come by this season at West Ham.

Although his wages may be difficult to fund for a Championship club, Stoke could be tempted to take the gamble and bring him to the club in January.

He would be a fine addition to the squad and could be the difference in firing them to promotion back to the Premier League.

QPR's talisman has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road already this season.

Promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough are seemingly leading the race for the midfielder's signature according to West London Sport.

But Stoke could definitely benefit from having his creative flair in their team as they search for an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Chelsea winger is one of the brightest young prospects to come out of the academy in recent years and many Blues fans have been left surprised by his omission from the squad this season.

Hudson-Odoi is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League in this years campaign, and Stoke should certainly be eyeing a deal for the youngster who will be after first-team football to further his development in the senior game.
