“From 1 to 11 absolutely superb”, “Old time feelings back again” – Coventry fans react to cup upset

Coventry City dumped Premier League Stoke City out of the FA Cup today, heaping further misery on under pressure manager Mark Hughes.

Goals from defenders Jordan Willis and Jack Grimmer – either side of a Charlie Adam penalty – ensured it was Coventry City who progressed to the 4th round of the FA Cup.

Coventry took a first half lead when Willis powered in a close range header from a corner and they went into half time 1-0 up against Stoke.

The Potters came back strong and Charlie Adam converted from the spot after Ramadan was felled by Willis but their lead was short lived.

Grimmer scored a brilliant driven goal from outside the box to earn Coventry a win, despite being 56 places lower than Stoke in the league places.

Coventry fans, who have been through a lot of pain in the last few decades, finally have something to celebrate.

Here are the best tweets from after the full time whistle.
