Ian Holloway will already have one eye on the summer, after steering his Queens Park Rangers squad to a mid-table finish in the Sky Bet Championship.

A steady season means that QPR are in a luxurious position heading into the final three fixtures of the season, with Holloway’s side not threatened by relegation.

Although a mid-table finish and sitting clear of the Championship’s relegation fight can be seen as a positive for most clubs, QPR will want to push on and challenge higher up the table next year, which makes the summer vital.

Holloway will need to make good use of the summer transfer window, bringing the right quality of players to Loftus Road that will help to take his side to the next level.

Here at FLW, we take a look across the Football League, identifying THREE players we believe QPR need to be targeting a move for in the summer…

Maddison has been exceptional at Peterborough United in League One this season, producing so many assists.

Holloway might not have the biggest budget in the summer, which could make a move for Maddison difficult, but if QPR have funds, he is a player they should be targeting.

Murphy has spent the last 18 months on-loan with Burton Albion in the Championship, but will return to Leeds United in the summer.

The midfielder might not feature in Leeds’ plans, and although he has played a part at Burton, who have struggled, he still has good qualities.

Playing regular football, with better players around him at Loftus Road, would undoubtedly bring the best out of Murphy.

QPR need a striker to hit big numbers if they are to improve, and Holloway could well look to the lower leagues to find his man.

Luton Town’s Hylton could be perfect, after another campaign filled with goals in League Two.

It might be seen as a risk to ask Hylton to take the step up to the Championship, but it could well be one worth taking for Holloway.
