Leeds United's poor campaign continued on Friday night, with the Yorkshire side suffering another away defeat this time at Aston Villa.

The Whites have had little to play for over the past month, with promotion out the question and relegation not possible and it has showed in their performances.

Given that, manager Paul Heckingbottom is focusing on the big summer rebuild that he needs to make to ensure Leeds can be competing near the top next season.

However, he is aware of just what is needed, with several key additions required in crucial areas as well.

Here we look at three players that would make a big difference at Elland Road even if they'll cost...

Despite Bailey Peacock-Farrell's impressive recent displays, Leeds need a new keeper as Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan should depart over the summer.

One man who will surely be available is Newcastle stopper Karl Darlow who can't get a game for the Premier League side at the minute.

That won't change for the next campaign so he will be on the move and the Championship is his likely destination - and Leeds should make him a priority.

Another area Leeds are hugely short in is centre-back and Bartley is a player they know well.

The Swansea man is another who isn't getting games in the top-flight and enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell with the Whites last year.

Therefore, he may be open to returning and he would once again form a formidable partnership with Pontus Jansson that could be the base for a promotion push.

The Burnley striker is another who will be available having failed to make much of an impact at Turf Moor this season.

Wells has proven himself in the Championship over the years with Huddersfield and would be a big signing for any second tier side.

Leeds are desperate for someone to score goals, and Wells would be that man. His pace and movement would also be ideal for Pablo Hernandez and Samuel Saiz in behind.
